UNHCR Emergency Appeal for Syria

チャリティ活動名 United Kingdom for UNHCR

More than 200,000 people have crossed into Syria in just one month, fleeing escalating hostilities in Lebanon. Behind this figure are families forced into impossible choices - many displaced once again, arriving exhausted, traumatised and carrying little more than what they could hold.

Nearly 180,000 of those crossing are Syrians, including refugees who once fled Syria to find safety in Lebanon, only to be driven back by renewed violence. Alongside them are more than 28,000 Lebanese civilians escaping intense bombardment. Families, children and older people are crossing day and night through overstretched border points, searching for safety amid deep uncertainty.

For many, arrival does not mean stability. People urgently need food, shelter, health care, support to earn a living, and help replacing vital documents lost during flight. Some hope to stay temporarily, while others are attempting to rebuild their lives permanently despite fragile services and a struggling economy. All are coping with the trauma of displacement - often for the second or third time.

UNHCR is on the ground responding. Teams are providing emergency relief at border crossings and in communities receiving high numbers of returnees, including clean water, blankets, shelter materials, supplies for children, legal assistance, and transport to safer locations. Community centres across Syria also offer psychological first aid, mental health support and referrals to essential services.

But the needs are immense. UNHCR’s Syria response is less than 30% funded. Without urgent support, families risk being left without the basics they need to survive.

Your donation can provide life‑saving assistance and help bring safety, dignity and hope when it is needed most.
